If you opened our decant collection and immediately had five different fragrances in mind, I’d suggest slowing down for a second.
It’s tempting to try everything at once. But I’d start with the fragrance you keep coming back to the one you’ve looked up more than once or nearly bought already. That’s probably the question you actually want answered.
For some people, that will be Louis Vuitton Imagination or Sospiro Vibrato. Both are among the popular names in our selection, and I can see why someone would want to spend time with a smaller size before making a full-bottle decision.
If I were choosing between those two from their descriptions, I’d be interested in comparing Imagination’s citrus and tea character with Vibrato’s citrus, ginger, and warmer woody side. But I wouldn’t make the whole shortlist about those two.
Khadlaj Shiyaaka Sky and Karus Gold Absolu are also worth a look if you’ve been curious about the brand. The same goes for Afnan Supremacy Collector’s Edition Pour Homme and 9 PM Night Out. Then there’s French Avenue Liquid Brun. Its vanilla-and-spice profile gives you a different direction to consider, especially if that’s already the kind of fragrance you enjoy. The smaller sizes are listed here.
My approach would be to choose one fragrance I already wanted to try and one I was less sure about. That second choice is where sampling gets interesting. You can follow a bit of curiosity without filling your shelf with full bottles.
You might love the obvious choice. You might prefer the unexpected one. Either way, you’ll have an answer that comes from wearing it yourself.
