Returns & Refund Policy

At The Scent Plug, your satisfaction matters to us. We want every order to arrive in perfect condition and every customer to feel confident when shopping with us.
Please read our policy carefully before making a purchase.


1. General Policy

We offer a 7-day return window from the date your order is delivered.
To qualify, your item must be:

  • Unused and unopened
  • In the same condition you received it
  • In its original box and packaging
  • Accompanied by proof of purchase

To start a return, email support@thescentplug.com with your order number and reason for return.
If your request is approved, you’ll receive a return shipping label and instructions.
Please note, items returned without authorization will not be accepted.

International orders (outside the U.S.) are final sale and cannot be returned or refunded.


2. Items Eligible for Return

  • Fragrances that are unused, unopened, and sealed in original packaging
  • Candles that are unused and undamaged

3. Items Not Eligible for Return

For health, safety, and authenticity reasons, the following are final sale and non-returnable:

  • Opened or used fragrances
  • Decants and refillable bottles
  • Perfume atomizers
  • Cosmetics and skincare
  • “Final Sale” marked products
  • Unboxed or cap-missing bottles

These restrictions help maintain authenticity and hygiene standards for all customers.


4. How to Initiate a Return

  1. Email support@thescentplug.com within 7 days of delivery.
  2. Include your order number and reason for return.
  3. Wait for approval and instructions before shipping anything back.
  4. Ship the item using the return label provided (unless instructed otherwise).

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to an error on our part (wrong item shipped, defective, or damaged on arrival).


5. Shipping & Handling

  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable, unless we made a shipping error.
  • If your order qualified for “free shipping,” our actual shipping cost will be deducted from your refund.
  • Customers refusing delivery or sending items to the wrong address are responsible for all return-related fees.

6. Restocking Fees

  • A 10 % restocking fee applies to all approved returns not caused by company error.
  • Opened or tampered items may incur a 20 % (or higher) deduction depending on condition.

7. Refunds

Once your return is received and inspected, refunds are issued to your original payment method within 5–7 business days.
You may also choose store credit, which never expires and can be used anytime at thescentplug.com.


8. Exchanges

We currently do not offer direct exchanges.
If you’d like another item, please place a new order once your refund has been processed.


9. Damaged or Defective Items

If your order arrives damaged or defective, we’ll make it right.
Email support@thescentplug.com within 48 hours of delivery with:

  • Photos of the product and packaging
  • Your order number

We’ll replace the item or issue a full refund.


10. International Orders

All international sales are final.
Customers are responsible for customs fees, duties, and taxes.
We are not liable for items lost or delayed in international transit.


11. Pre-Orders & Cancellations

  • Each preorder’s estimated ship date is listed on its product page.
  • Preorder cancellations are subject to a 5 % processing fee.
  • If a preorder is delayed significantly, we’ll work with you to find a fair solution.
  • Standard (non-preorder) order cancellations incur a 3 % transaction fee if cancelled before shipment.

12. Sales Tax Policy

All eligible returns include a full refund of sales tax.
Refunds will appear in your account once processed by your financial institution.
